Athlete Brandguard has received the official endorsement of the NFL Alumni Association.

“In this era now in 2020, Athlete Brandguard training should be mandatory for any athlete involved in sports today. It’s really somewhat of a sports culture masterpiece, because it teaches athletes skills they need to know to thrive outside of their playing environment, which in turn benefits athletes back in their respective fields of competition. That’s what this athlete generation needs most to stay on the path to success.”

~Ahman Green: Nebraska Cornhusker All-American, All time Packers rushing leader, Packers Hall of Fame Inductee, 13-year pro

“I played NCAA basketball. There’s always been the proper focus on the athlete’s physical, but in today’s world, an athlete’s decision-making, selective judgment and mental health must also be equally solid and cared for. That’s the value of Athlete Brandguard because it provides that training to an athlete’s fabric that’s been overlooked all these years.”

THE VISION TO CREATE THE ATHLETE CULTURE PLAYBOOK

THE VISION TO CREATE THE ATHLETE CULTURE PLAYBOOK

Concerned about the escalation of athletes running afoul with the law, they both set out to do something about it. Marc, a distinguished network TV correspondent and Eric, a Super Bowl champion, first summoned 100 of their trusted sports allies on how to proceed. In the months that followed, Marc and Eric wrote the entire AB curriculum from scratch, while consulting with law enforcement, mental health and sports administration experts. Not satisfied to just watch, they became men of action. Today Marc and Eric are two of the most powerful voices in the fields of athlete culture and sports society. Dare we say, this is the masterclass of athlete empowerment and career protection. A valuable platform in this era of athlete social activism and influence.

Each online module is a chemistry lesson of two distinctive voices speaking in harmony for one purpose. Having witnessed sports scandals from all sides, their goal is educate athletes how to protect themselves from danger and damage. Their dialogue on stage is akin to nothing else you normally hear. Marc and Eric waste no time and no words. They speak a language that’s direct and to the point regarding all the perils to athletes, and how they can armor up against the pitfalls that can tarnish their careers. Marc transitioned into TV network management  after a distinguished on-air career and then he met Eric, who played 13 years in the NFL, was selected to play in the Pro Bowl twice earning All-Pro honors 3 times. Their goal is to help this generation of athletes perform better on and off the field. Their cumulative knowledge in the arena of sports culture is what makes Athlete Brandguard so powerful.

“WE THOUGHT THERE HAD TO BE A TRAINING PROGRAM OR PLAYBOOK OF THIS NATURE OUT THERE SOMEWHERE. BUT NOTHING EXISTED, SO WE DECIDED TO JUST CREATE IT. IT’S CALLED ATHLETE BRANDGUARD.”

LESSON PLAN

WHAT IS FAME?—This lecture asks, why are athletes looked at as celebrities? And why does the public expect so much of them? We’ll explore the components of fame, athlete expectations from fans, hero worship and wrath from a sometimes-fickle public. Fame and the unintended consequences of fame. Why do athletes align themselves with social causes, utilizing their fame to enact change? This lesson teaches the athlete why and how, they’re looked at as role models which explains why the public has certain expectations of them.

FAME GONE WRONG—This lecture examines the tragic falls from grace experienced by athletes. Why do sports careers get cut short by mistakes made off the field? How are fame, success, failure and finances interconnected? What role does social media play? Why do fame, superstardom and the pressure to perform, impact an athlete’s life so heavily, outside the playing arena? Is there too much of an emphasis on winning? This lecture teaches athletes fame is difficult to manage and the course begins to lay down a roadmap of etiquette that allows someone to better manage their fame.

THE ATHLETE TO MEDIA RELATIONSHIP—In this lesson the media pros reveal startling insights into what’s expected and what defines the sometimes-tenuous relationship between athletes and the media. Just exactly who is trying to get the best of who? Athletes versus media. Are they friends, enemies or interdependent of each other? What is the typical arc of this relationship as an athlete’s career advances? Enlightening insights from the course instructors who are both athletes and media personalities. They’ve both asked and have been been asked tough questions during live TV interviews.

WHAT IS SUCCESS: TWO DIFFERENT PARADIGMS—This lecture explores the meaning of success in the sports world, through the minds of a Super Bowl winning athlete and a former network TV sports correspondent. The instructors focus on two terms; success and failure. We’ll examine the meanings of these two words, through two different microscopes. How do those two perspectives clash, and in the end how does it impact press coverage about athletes and sports teams? Fascinating insights that will certainly shine light on how the term “success”, impacts so much of what’s publicly written and spoken about athletes. A must-see lesson for any athlete, coach and front office exec, as it becomes increasingly clear that their journey in sports is a maze and not a straight line.

ATHLETE COERCION—This lecture explores a rarely discussed concept in sports known as, athlete coercion. The very nature of the term indicates the subtlety that which it takes place and how unbeknownst people in the sports world are to the fact it even exists. Athlete coercion, however, is alive and well and it exerts significant influence on what can happen in an athlete’s career. It doesn’t bang you over the head, so sometimes you’re not even aware it’s even going on. The instructors of Athlete Brandguard once again, (along with a distinguished guest lecturer) tell the real story, in a most unusual educational forum. In this lesson an athlete learns how all the “media noise” can unknowingly impact their own decision-making on how to get the edge.

THE MEDIA GAME: CONTROVERSY SELLS—This lecture explores a conflicting reality: Media on air talent, pundits and show producers act surprised when an athlete behaves badly, yet that’s exactly the type of sports story they thrive on. Media outlets, desperate for eyeballs, clicks, shares and website engagement crave the controversial story involving an athlete. Why would something seemingly so bad for the sports community, be so heralded within the media world? Athlete Brandguard throws down hard with a lesson all athletes need to know. Media members crave the negative story so badly, they’re inclined to go the extra mile sometimes to even fabricate it.

DON’T RUN INTO THE AMBUSH: PART 1—Having gained a deeper understanding of how the press and media coexist, it’s essential to be aware of the tactics and strategies media members might utilize to extract the information they’re seeking from athletes and coaches. We’ve adeptly explained so far, it’s a maze, as well as a rollercoaster and that the media will often times bait the athlete to provoke a “move the needle” response. In this lesson you learn more of the twists and turns that lie ahead, allowing you to stay on the safe path without veering off course. This discussion will offer a sports competitor further insight into how to publicly communicate properly and go about their daily lifestyle as an athlete–midweek, pregame and postgame–while avoiding the traps and landmines, that have been set in your path.

DON’T RUN INTO THE AMBUSH: PART 2—This lecture continues where part one left off, on the same path of educating the enrollee about further insight into how to publicly communicate properly and go about their daily lifestyle as an athlete–midweek, pregame and postgame–while avoiding the traps and landmines, that have been set in your path. This lesson teaches the athlete community valuable life skills about the culture designed to sometimes trip them up, and how not to get ensnared in controversy.

STAYING OUT OF TROUBLE: PART 1—This discussion runs down the tick list of the most common ways athletes get in trouble, become entangled in scandal, create distractions and blow up their careers. You might think that you already know the difference between right and wrong, but wait until we share with you our list, and the three distinct categories of how athletes mess up. We’ll also educate you how much financially, and PR-wise, some of these mistakes can cost you. We’ll explain the career damage that you do to yourselves, and the difficulty to climb back out of the hole to get in the good graces of the decision makers who matter. This lesson will inform an athlete specifically what NOT TO DO, enabling them further to safeguard their career keeping them always and ever mindful…that what they’re about to do could be explosive and non-productive to their career. In this lecture athletes are told the hardcore truths from the watchful eyes of our instructors, how not to blow up their brand.

STAYING OUT OF TROUBLE: PART 2—This lecture picks up where part one left off… informing athletes what specifically NOT TO DO, enabling them further to safeguard their career keeping them always and ever-mindful…that what they’re about to do could be explosive and non-productive to your career.

SOCIAL MEDIA—This lecture is supplemental to whatever advice and regulations have already been laid down, from parents, coaches and administrators etc, to an athlete engaging in social media. You can never know enough about how to properly navigate social media, especially now since artificial intelligence might be working against you with every click or swipe. With social media networks offering you a 24/7 open microphone to say or project whatever you want, we remind you how easy it is to get in trouble via this medium. Would you believe us if we told you, it’s the biggest trap out there, as millions hope that social media networking is their ticket to stardom? We advise in the lesson, trying not to judge, for we realize this is a part of everyday life. In this lesson we show athletes how a simple post, a snapshot of life, can mess up their future.

CAUGHT IN THE STORM: AN ACCUSATION OR MISTAKE—The Athlete Brandguard team has a vast knowledge of wealth in this arena; from being an award winning TV legal correspondent, having a front row seat to the O.J. Simpson trial–to being a teammate of Rae Carruth, a professional football player found guilty of conspiring to murder his pregnant girlfriend. Our instructors have even had their own run-ins with public controversy. They advise you what to do, if you get caught or caught up in some drama. Perhaps got dragged into a scandal by the digital media “mob”. This lecture educates you, what to do when you’re at the center of that storm. Also this lesson will help you interpret the noise when you hear about a sports figure caught up in controversy. From our perspectives, two people who’ve uniquely been involved in storms from all fronts, your AB team prepares you for the worst. The straight truth from our educators on this most important sports and legal lesson.

THE DAILY ROUNDUP—Today we rip from the headlines, pick from the news writeups and critique the breaking sports stories from a Brandguard perspective. We will tell you the media’s motivation for running the story. Our educators assess the merits of sports news, online articles and events reported, on just this single window of review. Then we’ll provide our expertise on the impact this has on the sports brands named in the story. Did the athlete handle it properly? How the word “teammate”, means vocal public support. What athletes can learn from media manipulation and when sports websites put them on blast. How are they viewed by other athletes from opposing teams? This is all under our Athlete Brandguard purview, and in this lesson our instructors teach you the big picture. The various backstories, that you need to know, about the front-page stories. In this lecture our instructors show you how the principles taught in this course can really work on a daily basis.

THE MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS: PART 1—This lecture shows athletes that Mental Health is a serious deadly foe that has silently crept up on all of us. We cannot idly sit by and just watch as this illness whittles away at the athlete community. Its prevalence has reached to a point of crisis proportion in sports, so the Athlete Brandguard team is stepping up loudly and boldly to the plate in addressing this issue. In part one we explore the magnitude of mental illness and the most common disorders for athletes. We explain why this hidden opponent should come out from below the radar. Eric and Marc are joined by a third member of the team, a renown sports psychiatrist who played college basketball, to help cut straight to the point. This lesson will cause you to look inside your own character and ask yourself some diagnostic questions.

THE MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS: PART 2—This lecture picks up where part one leaves off. Marc, Eric and Dr. Bailey take a closer look at mental health statistically and socially. We honor the courageous athletes who’ve spoken up and some who’ve fallen. In this lesson athletes learn to be on the lookout for warning signs from a teammate struggling with a mental health disorder. The Athlete Brandguard team empowers you to recognize a single behavior, that perhaps could save a person’s life. We’ll also notify you where to turn for help. It’s essential this information is passed on to you, regarding the number one health and safety concern in the NCAA. With this lesson, we can all help lift the veil on the hidden nature of this opponent.

YOUR PATH YOUR CHOICE—As Brandguard rolls down the home stretch, you have been offered hundreds of recommendations, rules, regulations and pieces of advice on how–to safeguard your career against scandal, keep you safe, stay on course and avoid trouble. Our goal is to educate and provide you a better understanding of the outside factors and temptations that can negatively impact your brand. Now you decide which direction you’ll take. In today’s lesson we drop our final helpful hints, strategically picking up where we left off on previous days of what has not been said. Then it’s your career from here. Who wouldn’t want a safe path ahead? Stay on the right course. It’s your path, your choice and your time to buy in.

DON’T BE THE 8TH GUY—Male or female athlete, we don’t want you to be the next one, as in the new member to our notorious wall of shame. It’s not the list that anyone would be happy to be associated with. In this lecture we release the first seven of our, “Not Top 10” list if you will, of athletes whose careers took a turn for the worst, and today are equally or more known for what went wrong, than what went right in their sports careers. One by one we go down the list, in detail of what they did wrong, wondering perhaps (along with you now that you’ve learned the curriculum) how good they could have been and what their legacy might be. Our Athlete Brandguard team would have eagerly welcomed the opportunity to teach this course to them, our seven not-so-good men, as they were coming into their fame. This final lecture will display to you the enlightening dollar value of Athlete Brandguard relative to examining the true athletic talent of seven young men.
